Infertility Drugs - The Miracle Cure?

Infertility is an ordeal that some couples face with some level of sensitivity. Despite the availability of fertility options, some couples still find it difficult to deal with the problem. Unfortunately, some end up getting help at a later time only to find out that it's already too late for them to conceive. Some despite of their young age find out later that they have health problems that may no longer be resolved. Others just don't seek medical attention for fear of being frowned upon by friends especially among men.

Sometimes, husbands refuse to be involved in the situation and to submit themselves to testing. This makes the treatment process longer than it could have been. Fortunately, the mindset of some men is slowly being changed and their participation in initial and even the more intrusive tests now observed especially among high income earners.

As a first step, fertility treatments in the form of infertility drugs are for both genders are now available.

For females, there are drugs that regulate the reproductive hormones which will result to the release of multiple eggs during your ovulation cycle. The most common of these is Clompihene which is often prescribed for women with hormonal imbalances to help them normalize the influx of egg cells during ovulation.

An injected medication called Human menopausal gonadotropin is designed for those women who don't ovulate on their own. This is mainly caused by failed stimulation of ovulation of the pituitary gland.

There is also another hormonal drug called Follicle-stimulating hormone, or FSH that stimulates the ovaries to aid in the maturing of egg follicles.

Another oral drug called Metformin is given to women to boost ovulation.

Among fertility drugs for men, those that are designed to address impotence are the most common. There are also drugs in the form of hormones that are designed to increase sperm count.
